INTRODUCTION

Marguerite was the outstanding talent of women's cycling in 1930s Britain. 'The Blond Bombshell from Bournemouth', as she was dubbed by the press, held all the women's distance records, including the The Land's End to John o'Groats and 1,000 miles. She was our first full time female professional cyclist. During the war she was among Britain's first seven airline stewardesses serving with BOAC's flying boat service at Poole. The purpose of this website is to celebrate her achivements and to promote my book  Marguerite Wilson - The First Star of Women's Cycling, told in her own words and those of her admirers. - William Wilson

'I would like to thank you for your wonderful book 'Marguerite Wilson'. I started to read it and couldn't put it down'.

Alan McRae
-Bournemouth Arrow CC

'You probably got the drift on how absolutely stunned I was with the already famous book!  I think it is absolutely terrific at so many levels'.

Beverley                   -Marguerite's daughter

It is a wonderful book and beyond anything that I was expecting.  Mum would be proud of you….and of course she would be saying….’no, no it’s all in the past, it's not that important’

Aimee Alexander
-Poole flying boats celebration

'It was well worth the effort of 2½ years’ hard work to produce something so interesting & intrinsically beautiful…  Just like Marguerite herself !'
